- Cross the dirt road and follow the sign for the Billy Yank Trail.
- Pass the Battle of Monterey Pass sign on the left.
- Stay left as you pass the brown bench on the left.
- Follow the sign for the Monterey Peak Stoned trail.
- Pass a small wooden bench on the left and keep going up.
- Continue on the trail passing more trail signs.
